Traits

Aquatic Tail (Basic)

Category: Subtype
Species: Terralien

A tail resembling that of an aquatic animal.

  • When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the Terralien’s pre-existing body colors. Adding new colors requires the use of a Betta Brush.
  • Does NOT apply to simple tapered tails, like those found on Otters.
  • Does NOT require the Fins/Webbing trait, so long as any fins or webbing are located only on the tail. If any are present on the body, the Fins/Webbing trait is required.

This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:

  • Amphibian
  • Aquatic
  • Synthetic
  • Edible

A Sunken Tail is required to apply this trait to the following subtypes, or to pre-existing designs:

  • Sprout
  • Bug
  • Beast
  • Reptilian
  • Marine
  • Microbe
  • Fossil
  • Planetary

Plant Tail (Basic)

Category: Subtype
Species: Terralien

A tail made of plant or fungal matter.

  • When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the Terralien’s pre-existing body colors. Adding new colors requires the use of a Betta Brush
  • Plant Tails can consist of tentacle-like vines, but cannot mimic marine tentacles without both the Aquatic Tail and Tentacle traits.
  • Does NOT grant the Plant Growth trait.
  • The Plant Growth trait is required if smaller plants are sprouting from the Plant Tail itself.
  • Can be made up of fruits or vegetables, so long as the plant the fruit/vegetable is growing from is present.
  • CANNOT mimic Object Tail without both traits being applied. For example, fruits or vegetables that are not growing from a plant fall under Object Tail and Plant Tail.

This trait can ONLY be applied to the Sprout, Synthetic, and Edible subtype. To apply this trait to pre-existing Sprout, Synthetic, or Edible Terraliens, an Oddity Tail is required.

Mandibles (Basic)

Category: Subtype
Species: Terralien

Insect-like mouth pieces or pincers.

  • When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the Terralien’s pre-existing body colors. Adding new colors requires the use of a Betta Brush.
  • CANNOT be applied to the visor. Mandible-like protrusions from the visor require the Shaped Visor trait.
  • Can be shiny, but cannot mimic Iridescence, Material Parts or Metallic Shimmer without those traits being applied as well.
  • Can be located anywhere on the body.

This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:

  • Bug
  • Synthetic
  • Edible

A Pincher Potion is required to apply this trait to the following subtypes, or to pre-existing designs:

  • Amphibian
  • Sprout
  • Beast
  • Reptilian
  • Marine
  • Microbe
  • Fossil
  • Planetary

Arthropod Tail (Basic)

Category: Subtype
Species: Terralien

A tail resembling that of an arthropod’s.

  • When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the Terralien’s pre-existing body colors. Adding new colors requires the use of a Betta Brush.
  • Insect-like legs connected to the tail DO NOT require the Duplicated Parts trait. However, non-insect legs, such as legs with paws, do.
  • The Exoskeleton trait is required for Arthropod Tails with an exoskeleton.

This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:

  • Bug
  • Synthetic
  • Edible

A Skittering Tail is required to apply this trait to the following subtypes, or to pre-existing designs:

  • Sprout
  • Amphibian
  • Beast
  • Reptilian
  • Marine
  • Microbe
  • Fossil
  • Planetary

Microbe Tail (Modified)

Category: Subtype
Species: Terralien (Microbe subtype)

A transparent tail consisting of the same contents as a Microbe Terralien’s visor.

  • When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the visor and visor content's existing colors. Adding additional colors requires a Betta Brush.
  • Must contain the same kind of microbes as the visor.
  • Grants the Transparency trait.

This trait can ONLY be applied to the Microbe subtype. To apply this trait to pre-existing Microbe Terraliens, an Oddity Tail is required.

Visor Mouth (Modified)

Category: Subtype
Species: Terralien

Visor contents that part into a mouth-like shape.

  • When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the visor’s existing glass color. Adding additional colors requires an Inky Leaf .
  • CANNOT  be paired with the Visor Eye trait.
  • Must clearly be made of the same contents within the visor.

This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:

  • Synthetic
  • Edible
  • Microbe

Bone Tail (Modified)

Category: Subtype
Species: Terralien

A tail that is made completely of bone.

This trait can ONLY be applied to the Fossil, Edible, and Synthetic subtype. To apply this trait to pre-existing Fossil, Edible, or Synthetic Terraliens, an Oddity Tail is required.

Visor Decay (Modified)

Category: Subtype
Species: Terralien (Fossil subtype)

Parts of the visor that appear to be aged or decayed.

  • Cannot obscure the fossil within the visor.
  • Cannot mimic eyes or a mouth.
  • Grants the Multi-Colored Visor trait.

This trait can ONLY be applied to the Fossil subtype.

Fossilized Parts (Modified)

Category: Subtype
Species: Terralien (Fossil subtype)

Growths of stones, crystals, bones, or gems that may or may not replace parts of a Terralien’s body.

  • Does not allow for growths made of metal or man-made materals. Metal or man-made material growths require the Material Parts trait.
  • Can be shiny, but cannot mimic Glitter, Iridescence, Material Parts or Metallic Shimmer without said traits also being applied.
  • CANNOT resemble an Exoskeleton without both traits being applied.
  • CANNOT appear as processed or smooth gemstones.
  • CANNOT mimic man-made materials.

This trait can ONLY be applied to the Fossil subtype.

Visor Eye (Modified)

Category: Subtype
Species: Terralien

Visor contents that mimic an eye.

  • If applied to the microbe subtype, visor eyes are required to consist of the same microbes within the visor.
    • The Screen Visor trait is required for eyes that are not made of the visor’s contents.
  • CANNOT  be paired with Visor Mouth.

This trait can ONLY be applied to the Synthetic and Microbe subtypes.
