Traits

Fur (Basic)

Category: Basic

Allows fur and hair on a Terralien.

DESIGN NOTES:

  • Fur colors are body colors. The color of this trait must be derived from the terra's existing body palette if added else one needs a betta brush when adding a new color alongside the trait. Colors cannot be derived from the visor contents.
  • Fur or any markings for that matter, can have any pattern as long as it does not mimic traits (glitter, charms, plant growth) OR look too much like clothing. Some markings that may mimic traits are okay under certain guidelines. Examples include:
    • As a general rule of thumb, markings that mimic certain traits cannot look three dimensional. Generally we advise that they have no outlines to prevent it from looking that way.
    • Stitch-like markings can be executed as long as it passes as markings; they must be clearly two dimensional and flat on the fur.
    • Eye markings are OK provided that the eyes are found on the critter as well as we understand that certain species mimic eyes on their patterns. They still cannot look three dimensional however.
    • Fur can vaguely look like clothing, for example a marking with the same coverage as a sleeved shirt or dots on the torso area to mimic buttons, however it must only be derivative of the shape of the clothing it is based on. It cannot have too many details i.e laced stocking patterns else it will be considered material parts.
  • Hair can cover the visor band and the tank but  must not cover it ompletely. A good amount of both will still need to be seen. Hair cannot hide too much of the organism inside of the visor.
  • Hair can be under the visor band as long as it is still visibly connected to the tank.
  • Fur and hair can be any size, texture or thickness as long as it is still passable as fur.
  • Fur cannot mimic feathers.
