Traits
Fur (Basic)
Category: Basic
Species: Terralien
A layer of fur resembling the coat of a mammal.
- When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the Terralien’s pre-existing body colors. Adding new colors requires the use of a Betta Brush.
- Hair of any style or type falls under the fur trait, even if it is not present anywhere else on the body.
- Can resemble:
- EYES: Eye markings are allowed as long as they are flat and not given any depth/definition. 3D eyes, or eyes that move/emote, require the Eyes on Body trait.
- STITCHING: Must be flat to the body and not connect two different colors of fur. 3D stitching requires the Charms trait. If stitching patterns OR charms connect two different fur colors or patterns, the Material Parts trait is required.
- CLOTHING: Fur markings can mimic clothing to an extent as long as the pattern is flat to the body. For visual reference, please follow this guide.
- CANNOT resemble:
-
- FEATHERS: For fur shaped and layered to resemble feathers, the Feathers trait must be applied in addition to fur.
- MATERIAL PARTS: See above for fur-mimicking clothing.
- HOODS: For a furry hood, both the Fur and Hood traits must be applied.
- TAIL SHAPES: For subtype-specific tails, fur must be applied in addition to the subtype tail trait. For example, a shark tail made of fur would require both the Aquatic Tail and Fur traits, not one or the other.
- Can cover the visor, visor band, and sensors so long as the majority of it is uncovered, or a side reference displaying what the visor and its contents looks like uncovered is provided.
- Can be any size, texture, thickness, etc.
This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:

- Synthetic
- Edible
- Microbe
- Fossil
