Traits
Object Tail (Limited)
A tail that resembles a physical (real or fictional) object.
- When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the Terralien’s pre-existing body colors. Adding new colors requires the use of a Betta Brush.
- Tails made of man-made materials that do not resemble physical objects fall under the Material Parts trait and not Object Tail.
- Cannot mimic the Living Parts trait unless both traits are applied.
This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:
- Synthetic
- Edible
- Planetary
Terrarium Body (Limited)
Part of the body that has been replaced with the same glass as a Terralien's visor, allowing it to store similar contents.
- When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the visor’s existing glass color. Adding additional colors requires an Inky Leaf.
- For the body Terrarium(s) to have multiple colors, the Multi-colored visor trait is required.
- The contents of any body terrariums must be thematically similar to the main visor.
- If adding a critter to a body terrarium, it must fall under the same subtype as the visor critter. For example, insects may have other insects within their terrarium(s), but cannot have an insect in their visor and a dog in their terrarium(s).
- Can only be applied to 50% or less of any non-limited subtype’s design. This coverage also combines with other inorganic traits such as Material Parts and Elemental -- 50% must remain regular organic body material.
- Limited subtypes are allowed up to 100% coverage.
This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:
- Synthetic
- Edible
- Planetary
Material Parts (Limited)
Parts of a Terralien’s body that are made of inorganic matter.
- When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the Terralien’s pre-existing body colors. Adding new colors requires the use of a Betta Brush.
- Cannot mimic or resemble the Elemental trait.
- Can be paired with Exoskeleton to create armor.
- Can mimic clothing, so long as any “clothes” are visibly fused or stitched to the body. Please follow this guide for visual reference.
- Can affect all parts of a Terralien except the visor.
- Can only be applied to 50% or less of any non-limited subtype’s design. This coverage also combines with other inorganic traits such as Terrarium Body and Elemental -- 50% must remain regular organic body material.
- Tails resembling physical (real or fantasy) objects require the Object Tail trait.
This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:
- Synthetic
- Edible
- Planetary
Screen Visor (Limited)
A screen that replaces a Terralien’s typical glass visor.
- Can have the Visor Eye or Visor Mouth traits, however, both CANNOT be present on the same visor at once.
- Can be combined with Morphing to show different images on the screen.
- Must be combined with Color Shift for screen colors to change.
- Screen visors still require a “critter” and cannot be blank, single colors, or only gradient colors. Critters may be defined as grids, patterns, or two-dimensional creatures that cast no shadow.
- Screen visor contents CANNOT mimic other subtypes.
This trait can ONLY be applied to the Synthetic subtype.
Elemental (Limited)
Parts of a Terralien’s body that consists of elemental matter, such as fire, water, ice, or smoke.
- This trait allows for the addition of new colors without the need for an item. Any new colors can only be applied to the area affected by the trait — adding new colors elsewhere on the body requires a Betta Brush.
- This trait only applies to the body. For example, if a Terralien has an arm made of water, the Elemental trait is required, but if a Terralien has disconnected water droplets floating around their body, the Holograms trait is required instead.
- Can only be applied to 50% or less of any non-limited subtype’s design. This coverage also combines with other inorganic traits such as Material Parts and Terrarium Body -- 50% must remain regular organic body material.
- CANNOT resemble Material Parts.
This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:
- Synthetic
- Edible
Holograms (Limited)
Digital images, text, or symbols that hover around a Terralien’s body.
- This trait allows for the addition of new colors without the need for an item. Any new colors can only be applied to the area affected by the trait — adding new colors elsewhere on the body requires a Betta Brush.
- Can vary in quantity, size, and general appearance.
- Holograms that change shape require the Morphing trait.
- Holograms that changr color require the Color Shift trait.
- Holograms themselves can glow, however, the Bioluminescence trait is required for any glowing bodyparts or patterns.
This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:
- Synthetic
- Edible
- Planetary
Form Change (Limited)
A transformation that affects the entire body, allowing a Terralien to shape-shift into an entirely new, different form.
- This trait allows for the addition of new colors without the need for an item. Any new colors can only be applied to the area affected by the trait — adding new colors elsewhere on the body requires a Betta Brush.
- All forms present must be similar to the base design. This includes similar visor contents — only slight variations of visor contents are permitted. For example, if the main body’s visor contains an insect, all alternate form's visors must also contain insects.
- The Color Shift and Morphing traits are NOT required for alternate forms.
- Forms can have different traits from one another so long the base design remains recognizable. Adding traits not present on the original design requires the appropriate items for each trait.
This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:
- Synthetic
- Edible
- Planetary
Morphing (Limited)
Specific, individual parts of a Terralien’s body that can change appearance.
- When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the Terralien’s pre-existing body colors. Adding new colors requires the use of a Betta Brush.
- Morphing can only affect ONE part of the body (Both legs, both arms, tails, wings, etc.). For full body shape-shifting, the Form Change trait is required.
- CANNOT change colors without also applying the Color Shift trait.
This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:
- Synthetic
- Edible
- Planetary
Floating Parts (Limited)
Body parts that are visibly disconnected and floating in place.
- When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the Terralien’s pre-existing body colors. Adding new colors requires the use of a Betta Brush.
- Limbs may appear loosely attached via magnets, strings, etc. when paired with the Material Parts trait.
This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:
- Synthetic
- Edible
- Planetary
Puppeteer (Limited)
Additional bodies that share a conscience with the Terralien’s main body.
- When adding this trait via a design update, its color must be derived from the Terralien’s pre-existing body colors. Adding new colors requires the use of a Betta Brush.
- Cannot mimic Morphing or Form Change without also applying either trait.
- All puppets are required to be visible on the masterlist. Masterlist images may not exceed 5 full bodies, including the base design, bioluminescence references, color shift references, form changes, etc.
- Each puppet requires its own separate items for trait changes when submitting a design update.
This trait is applicable to the following subtypes for free when submitting a new design:
- Synthetic
- Edible
- Planetary
