My terra- despite having a murderous little creature running the show- doesn't use knives when carving their pumpkins. They use their claws! They like to get down and dirty and really feel the pumpkin beneath their paws. It makes the process all that much more personal- even if it's a little messy. But hey! Messy isn't bad! The scarier the better for halloween right? He likes to pretend he's king of the pumpkin patch- the pumpkins aren't his though. He sneaks into a pumpkin patch in the middle of the night, it's when he does his best work. Carving away and leaving a creepy but exciting surprise to wake up to! The kids love it, the owners of the farm? Not so much. But hey he does enough free labor for their haunted corn maze that they don't really try that hard to find him. Even if he does take some of the best pumpkins. He's an artist! And a bit of a thief. But hey, it's just pumpkins. So it's not really all too bad in the long run.

I just think it's really fun to believe that some creatures would use claws to carve up their pumpkins!! Why use knives when you have sharp tools right there.
