The eve of hallows as some may call it was coming to a close, thankfully I am not that pretentious to call it the eve of hallows. Dusk had long since passed as the kiss of night painted the land in shadow, this of course being the perfect night for some mischief however! Most of the festivities of Halloween had long since come to a close, and here we find ourselves following behind two terraliens who might’ve just stayed up a little too late. Tumbling down the uneven cobbled paths of terrah ventured Diversion and Orzo. The two had been trick or treating, though more of a subtle robbery for the pair as they’d been checking every single house they could find, after all, Orzo really wanted some free Twixs. As the pair wandered aimlessly through the night, Orzo found himself letting out a loud yawn, stretching his arms back as he let out an apathetic sigh, “You know we really ought to go home.” He suggested to Diversion who looked at him horrified.
“Home? Home! Do you know what time of year it is! Halloween never ends till the sun rises!” They exclaimed, flapping their arms around dramatically though their focus wandered as they walked past the route to the old graveyard, “Unless you wanna go down there!” Diversion exclaimed, grabbing at Orzo’s hands as they walked towards the path.
“That’s the path to my old house y'know.” Orzo apathetically sighed, following after Diversion.
“Were your neighbors nice? I bet they were lovely! Look at this dense forest! Perfect place to hide a body!” Diversion excitedly responded, releasing their grasp off of Orzo’s hand as he shuffled up his lacey nurse costume, unbuttoning the chest so that his tentacles could be released.
“It’s a graveyard. They’re all dead.” Orzo groaned back, pulling off the fake plastic chains that were haphazardly thrown over his head as he tossed them into his candy bag. “I’m not exactly one for the social side of things you know.”
“A. May. Zing. AMAZING!” Diversion giggled a little, “They sound like great company! Oh it's so exciting! I cannot wait to meet them!” Orzo let out a sigh to Diversion's excitement, now that they’d finally begun to slow down, his ‘experiment’ costume had become a bit more loathsome, his arms were coated in messy fabric bandages that became just a little bit looser with each step he took.
As they stood before the gated entrance of the graveyard, Orzo curiously looked around, it was still as abandoned and desolate as ever, just how he liked it. Curiously Diversion crept behind him as Orzo led the way, swooping in between various graves and tombs until he found his old home. A derelict grave that had been dug up, Orzo had little clue as to why, but no one was using it after all, he gestured over to Diversion who was distant in his own land of wonder. Diversion quickly saw the queue, jogging over to Orzo’s side as he peered into the abandoned coffin. “Woah! Nice crib! Back in my day we just kept the body still in there!” Diversion enthusiastically remarked, as Orzo titled his head to the side.
“What. That sounds gross.”
“What happened to the body though?” Diversion curiously pondered, peering around as if expecting the corpse to be displaced somewhere.
“I don't know. It was dug up when I first found this place.” Orzo responded, jumping down into the coffin as he poured out his candy bag, poking through his bounty of the night. Diversion let out an unbothered shrug, though was hesitant to follow after Orzo.
“Well, I’m going to go meet the neighbors! You sit tight! Or whatever you’re doing!”
Orzo sighed, watching as Diversion chased off around the graveyard, parts of his lacey nurse costume getting snagged on gravestones, though at that point in the night, their costumes were the least of the pair's concern. Orzo shuffled through his bag, frustrated to find he’d only accumulated two Twix bars. Letting out an apathetic sigh as he piled them up to one side, curiously digging through the rest of his pile as he listened in the distance to Diversion chasing something around. It had been maybe five minutes when Diversion finally ran back to Orzo, panting for breath. “I did it! I did it!” Diversion excitedly stammered, the vibrations from his visor being stuttered.
“What… Did you do?” Orzo cautiously inquired, his tone hesitant.
“I met your neighbors!” Diversion exclaimed, flapping his arms in the air.
“You what…?” Orzo inquired before a zombified terra flopped towards Diversion, peering over the coffin.
“I raised the dead! Duh!” Diversion dismissed Orzo, kicking the zombified terra away from themselves, “What else would I be doing?” Orzo started blankly at Diversion, whilst rapidly shuffling the candy back into his sack.
“Let's get out of here.”
“What. Why!” Diversion shook their head in disbelief, as another zombie approached. Orzo hopped out of the coffin, grabbing Diversion by the arm as he sprinted, dragging them away from the now hoard of zombies that was approaching.
“You are such a dumbass.” Orzo groaned, relatively unphased by the shenanigans of Diversion.
