Ah finally, the seasons had turned and fall was starting to take over. The trees are turning their leaves a beautiful variety of reds, oranges, and yellows. Restaurants are bringing back their signature fall dishes and drinks. Scents of pumpkin, cinnamon, and maple are in the air. Ares knew exactly what he was going to spend the week doing. He quickly grabbed his furry boots, favorite flannel scarf, and adjusted his beanie before stepping out into the crisp fall air. Walking down the street he passed various terras holding pumpkin spice lattes. A few were even gathering piles of leaves to play in. But he was heading for one place only. Spirit Halloween. Finally he could get his hands on the plentiful decorations to make his home a spooky paradise. Entering the store he was greeted with multiple animatronics attempting to scare the shoppers. He grabbed the nearest cart and began his hunt for the perfect decorations. A few candy corn lights here, some skull ornaments there, and of course various sizes of fake pumpkins. Of course he couldn’t pass up some of the smaller animatronics, those would definitely give any unaware trick or treaters a fright. By the time he was done his cart was packed to the brim with decor. The employee who checked him out seemed a bit concerned, but he paid no mind. He needed to go to his next stop, Home Depot. The twelve foot tall skeleton would finally be his. The line into the store was long, but he was determined. He pushed his way past the other shoppers, most there simply for home improvement reasons. Finally it was his, the majestic statue dwarfed him. It was perfect. The employee who helped him pack it away was very amused when he explained his decoration plans. Once he arrived back home he set his plan into motion. Using a ladder he strung his hanging decorations around his porch and through his yard trees. He set out his pumpkins in small piles all over, and placed a large amount of fake spiderwebs around his windows. A few glowing skulls, some gravestones in his yard, and of course the giant skeleton as the centerpiece leaning ominously by his front steps. Walking out to the road he turned and admired his work. It was perfect, no one would be able to out decorate him this year. And if they did, he’d have plenty of time to add more before Halloween rolled around. It was only September first after all.
