"Huddle up!”
Butterscotch is delighted, perking on the windowsill with their shiny claws and watching the leaves dance together, swirling and chatting around. He rushes outside! The daisies greet him but he doesn’t care to listen, it’s time to play after all. As soon as he finds the group of leaves, they respond:
“A gust”
“A wind”
“It’s time for flight”
They continue:
“Now scatter!”
“Now scram!”
“Catch us before midnight!”
As the last word is spoken, the weather changes. All of the leaves get blown away and Butter can only see them drifting upward and away towards autumn lane.
“Oh Snap!”
Butter never turns down an opportunity for a chase, the game is on! Through mud and twigs, he runs. Scathing past some bugs that wave to him as he glances back to make sure they're alright, then smiling and continuing his playful hunt. Troubles arose (hah) though, when it came to a point where the path ahead was just too steep! That was, until he felt something poke his foot
"Hey!"
He jumps back, startled and frazzled, almost bedazzled! As it seems, he stepped upon a bunch of vines and roots
"We'll gladly bring you up you know, we're good at that growing thing, but first, a riddle! W-"
"LAAA LAA LALA LAA LAAAAAAA"
Butter didn't care about some stupid puzzle, he needs to get up there! As a handy solution, he burst out into an obnoxious song, so loud that the roots pleaded to lift him up there just to shut him up.
Carrying on, Butter saw the leaves in the horizon, though getting closer and closer. They float over a large gap over a seemingly bottomless pit.
Stumped, he was close to giving up until a formation of rocks began to form.
"You are not the first, you won't be the last"
"Just hop on in and have yourself a blast!"
The rocks form into a catapult-esque structure. Butter sees no reason not to hop in and with a force like magic, they snap forward and wave him a goodbye as he gets flung from side one to two. Accelerating and flying until CRASH. He perfectly landed upon all of the leaves at last
"Oh me!"
"Oh my!"
"Now you did fly!"
"Now here"
"And lying"
"In our leafsty"
At last. Butter can finally joyfully play around his favourite pile of leaves, running and jumping around. This is what Fall is about for him and it was a blast for sure.
