Finnigan was never an avid enjoyer of chaos.
A little unpredictability couldn't hurt, he admitted that, but whenever Delphino was around, there seemed to be a little too much madness present in the air. It seemed to follow Delphino around like the plague. Naturally it stuck around even when fall shifted into winter; he just couldn’t catch a break.
“Del, can you please stop sticking your fingers into the popcorn bowl like that? It’s disgusting.” He muttered, unamused by the smaller’s behavior. God, could he just sit still and behave for one moment? It was as if he was cursed to babysit Delphino until he dropped dead and keeled over.
Lambii’s subtle shift beside him was not lost on Finnigan. “Quit laughing, Bii. It’s not that funny.” He muttered, his tail flicking against the couch with mild irritation. One single movie marathon was all he had wanted. One nice, easy, evening of watching scary movies. Simple. So why did Delphino have to make it so difficult?
“How else am I supposed to get the full ‘human’ experience if I can’t touch it?” Delph grumbled, “You’re killing our holiday vibe, Finny. Butchering it, even, way more than the actual slashers are.” He gestured to the television, mildly amused by the violence in the movie. Finnigan had hardly noticed; they’d turned the volume down and left the lights on for the sake of Lambii. He wanted to argue that maybe it was those factors that were working to kill the spooky vibe and not himself.
“You can get the ‘human’ experience by looking at it. You don’t need to dig your grubby little fingers around in the bowl and get powder everywhere. You know how difficult it is for me to clean that kind of stuff out of the couch.” Finnigan scolded, ignoring Lambii’s not-so subtle signing that he was, in fact, acting like a mom. Not in the fun way, either.
“You’re both insufferable.” Finnigan groaned, “We’re never doing this again. Human traditions are always so passe and needlessly complicated. Let’s just do our usual house decorating and crafts contest near year, alright? This was absolutely not worth all the planning.”
Lambii laced her hands together and Delphino crossed his arms over his chest, but neither of them disagreed. As interesting as it had been to test out human tradition this year, their own little group one was far more enjoyable.
Ah, well. You live and let learn, right?
