The snow sprinkled from the sky unexpectedly. Dori opened his eyes when he heard a quiet rustle outside the window. Yesterday everything had been familiarly autumnal: the warm wind, the leaves underfoot. Now snow flakes swirled and lay on the ground as if they had come early, late for the fall festival.
Dori sighed, glancing at the alarm clock that showed it was an hour before the celebration began. He didn't want to go there. Local gatherings celebrating the arrival of fall always made him sarcastic. The leaves are falling, let's celebrate! Pumpkins, candles, apples. Boring!
“Screw it,” - Dori muttered, rolling onto his side. But then an idea popped into his head. His bright orange face broke into a grin: “Why not surprise them?”
He jumped to his feet and began rummaging through his closet. Stumbled upon a summer camper suit that was left over from last season. He put on shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, and sunglasses. “That's it - no fall!” - he merrily muttered, walking over to the mirror.
When he went outside, snow had already powdered the roofs and roads. Dori walked toward the square, humming some tantalizing tune under his breath. He imagined how serious and festive everyone would be gawking at his appearance in his summer entourage.
“Now this is going to be fun!” - Dori thought, slipping on the first snow-covered path.
