A distant rumbling, a hum of.. something. Nyano thought to themselves as they laid there in bed. Something didn’t feel right, something was off. The TV playing in the distance was starting to give in and static was appearing on the screen every couple seconds until it blipped out. Startled, Nyano sat up in confusion, palms sweaty. They listened as their room was filled with silence. The distant humming was getting louder, slowly but surely, coming their direction. Nyano got out of bed and messed with the knobs on the television. But to no avail, the television did not turn back on. They slumped over in defeat and walked over to their window to take a peek outside. They could still hear the distant hum of something in the distance coming their way. After a moment of staring outside their upstairs window, they went downstairs to go take a better look, by stepping outside. A couple steps forward, still nothing. Nyano took more steps forward, closing into the middle of their pathway that led to their home. Still unsatisfied by being able to see what the sound was, they climbed a nearby tree and hoped they could get a better look. After a few moments, they made it halfway up.

Gazing into the distance, they hoped to see something. Staring, waiting, for something to happen. Still a distant hum but no sign of what it could be. Nyano shifted themselves to the other side of the tree. Lo and behold, a good distance away, was a large, saucer-like object in the sky. What was that? Was that a UFO- No. It can’t be, those don’t exist. There’s no way that’s a real thing, right? Nyano was spooked. The hairs on their tail started to stick up, they got worried. The object was idly floating in the sky, not doing a single thing. Not until the next moment, that is, when a large light flashed out from underneath it. The light projected onto the ground, as if it was looking for something. Nyano watched closely, but at a distance. The ship shone the light and slowly moved into the direction of Nyano’s home. Quickly realizing his, Nyano hopped out of the tree they were hiding in and briskly made their way to the comforts of their home, locking the door behind them. They quickly shut all the downstairs blinds and hid in a closet. The ship passed above them, loudly, causing the whole house to vibrate.The light from inside bled through the curtains as it flew past. As soon as it had arrived, the aircraft had left. Nyano climbed out of the closet, heard no distant hum and saw no lights, and went back upstairs to their now working television.
