Marigold stood at the screen of her terminal. Hundreds of questions swirled in her head, but none of them were answered. Lydia had just finished explaining that the key element needed to create planetary terras was a strange core. This was something more than just a scientific puzzle. Marigold felt that this mission would change not only her, but the nature of their world.
Lydia sat tensely across from the golden-haired terra . Her voice, cold and clear, seemed to cut through the air . "Marigold, do you realize how important this is? We are on the verge of creating new life. Without the core, nothing will work. We need to act quickly."
Marigold nodded, feeling a shiver of excitement and responsibility run through her skin. She knew she would help Lydia, of course, but inwardly she was filled with doubt. Could she, a girl who was used to handling small tasks in the lab, handle such a scale?
Lydia stretched out her hand toward the terminal screen, and images of satellites, labs, and minute details of the core flashed on it. "Here's a list of the resources we need. I can gather some of them, but it will take the work of your partners to rebuild the orbital device. Without it, we won't be able to control the core's temperature conditions. Can you handle it?"
Marigold looked carefully at the terminal, reading the unfamiliar names of minerals and compounds, clenching her hands into fists. She was ready to take on the job, even if it seemed impossible. "I can do it, Lydia. We'll get it done." Her voice was firmer than she expected.
Lydia nodded, pressing her lips together approvingly. "Good. Let's start with resource extraction. Terrah is known for its rare minerals, so we'll utilize its potential. Then we'll try to construct a core. In the end, this is just the beginning. Planetary terras could be the first experimental inhabitants."
Marigold stepped toward the terminal, feeling her heart pounding harder and harder. This was her first mission, and she knew she had no margin for error. Finding resources was not so easy. Some of the minerals were in deep caverns, where her partners would have to wade through labyrinthine tunnels and avoid dangerous traps.
While Lydia was busy collecting data and modeling the core, Marigold personally oversaw the resource gathering. She coordinated the work of her assistants, traveling with them on challenging missions. At times she had to be prepared for difficulties, from malfunctioning equipment to dangerous rifts. But she never stopped. With each new resource she found, she felt herself getting closer to her goal.
One day when all the necessary resources had been gathered, Lydia summoned Marigold to the terminal again. "Now comes the hard part," she said. - We must synthesize the core. Precision here is more important than ever. The slightest mistake and our labor will be wasted."
Marigold was ready. For hours they worked together, using complex formulas and technical calculations. Marigold was sweating, her fingers trembling, but she wouldn't let herself relax. Lydia watched the process with cold confidence, ready to intervene at any moment.
And so, after many hours of hard work, they completed the core. Terra, wearing green glasses, smiled quietly, for the first time in their entire collaboration. "You've done it, Marigold. Now the world is going to change. And you are part of that change."
Marigold stared at the core, feeling an incredible mixture of fatigue and triumph. She realized that this was only the beginning. But this step she had taken today was the most important one of her life.
Lydia reached out, touching the bronze-skinned terra's shoulder. "We will continue on. We have a lot of work ahead of us. But today you deserve a rest. You did well."
Marigold nodded, feeling the weight of responsibility slowly lift from her shoulders. She knew now that she could handle any task if she had partners like Lydia.
