“So… They left you.” C4-Z spoke.
“That is correct.” Lydia responded, head deep in the satellite.
“With a literal child…?”
“My baby brother.”
At that immediate moment, the ground rumbled as a tree came knocking down onto the site… Nearly crushing several of the other terras that wanted their own astrohedrons. Junior, as Lydia so introduced C4-Z too, was busy ‘playing’ with the wildlife of the area. While it was causing some issues, as noted by a poor terra stuck under said fallen tree, it sure was keeping the new creatures and plants away from the place.
“Right… Baby brother.”
There was such a flurry of events and emotions that were compressed in a short amount of time, it was making it hard to digest everything.
Firstly, dealing with a… possible planet conquering kin of their species? It was weirding C4-Z out and no one seemed to take issues with that detail. Everyone only seemed to be enamored by the new stuff they are going to get after this. Which to be fair, Lydia didn’t SEEM to oppose to showing everyone how to create their own… Still.
“Do you mind if you hit that button for me?” Lydia’s voice pulled C4-Z out of her thoughts, walking over and tapping the button.
The satellite sputtered briefly to life, but soon made a low hum, collapsing back to the soil.
“No good, the power keeps getting tripped for some reason….” Lydia muttered, going back into the wires.
“Let’s have Junior lift it up, it might be something lodged or the system could be having a minor malfunction that is causing the tripping.” C4-Z hopped over to the panel, grabbing the wire and connecting it to her arm to run a deeper diagnostic.
“An acceptable proposition, the only issue… Junior will have a hard time retaining his strength. This is a delicate instru-”
“JUNIOR!” C4-Z called out to the baby brother, while Lydia comically squeaks in protest in the back.
The ‘little’ fella’s attention shifted, crawling over making a small bit of a ruckus as he came over with his name being called.
“Mind doing us a little favor bud? Lift!” C4-Z pointed at the satellite, then making the motion to holding something above their head.
Junior tilted their head, seemingly trying to process to the motion before taking the machine and slowly lifting it up—C4-Z along with it.
“CAREFUL! PLEASE!” Lydia wailed, rushing over, “ITS DELICATE TECH YOU KNOW! I COULD HAVE LIFTED IT MYSELF!”
“Very aware! But don’t you think it would be useful for you being the one to fix the satellite rather than be the one… holding it up?”
“Another… valid point, just keep Junior for doing more damage!” Lydia hopped up, sticking to the underside of it and began to tinker.
C4-Z stayed above, having her arm still connected to the ship to see of any bug issues. She glanced at it briefly before her eyes switch to Junior—Which seemed to giggle at the sight of her mouth disappearing, turning into eyes.
“Oh you like that? Watch-“ Her visor started to shift into other shapes, animals, and funny faces with a expo market she had on hand.
Junior continues to giggle, entertained by the shifting figures; Shaking the satellite in the process-
“Can- You- keep- him- still?!” Lydia called out, being shaken on the underside.
“Sorry! Sorry- Let me-“ Before C4-Z could even begin calming the laughing Junior down, a chunk of a tree with what can only be assumed is the battery lodged in the trunk- fell out the bottom.
All three of them stopped, starring at the piece that fell.
“Well, I think that’s why the power kept tripping…” C4-Z peeked, chuckling slightly.
“Ugh… Well, at least this shaking benefitted us in the long run.” Lydia sighed out.
