After reading the Terrah Times, Meridia knew she had no time to waste. But, when she had arrived to Lydia’s satellite, it seemed she had her paws full with her baby brother, Junior.
“Agh! I simply cannot work under these conditions!” Lydia huffed, and turned to see Meridia. “Who are you?”
“Meridia! I came to help with the astrohedron.” She looked around at the chaos around them.
“You and everyone else on Terrah.” Lydia turned to continue what she was doing, but was met with Junior swinging a piece around excitedly.
“Well, if you don’t need help with that…” Meridia stepped forward. “Can I help in other ways?”
“Here.” Lydia shoved the (very large) baby Meridia’s way. “Take him out of here and give me some peace. Find something baby-safe for him to do.”
“Like the Playfair?”
“Perfect, the Playfair. Whatever. I just need a minute to myself.”
And so, they were off. Meridia held Junior’s hand and lead him to where the Playfair was taking place. Admittedly, it had been some time since Meridia had interacted with a baby or toddler Terra, but she was sure she would get the hang of it. Unfortunately, she had not booked in advance, as she had not planned on going to the Playfair, so she ended up paying full grub price for the tickets. But, it was for Junior, and surely he would have a good time. The poster did say suitable for 3+ months, after all. And since Junior could not tell her exactly how old he was (or, maybe he simply did not want to), she assumed it would be fine.
They started with a few rides, some she had not been on since she was little herself (or, littler than she was now). They had spinning teacups (her absolute favorite) and a carousel. Despite being smaller than Junior, she actually did a fairly good job keeping him in/on the rides, and he seemed to be having a lot of fun! She managed to scrounge up some more grubs for food, and by that point, Junior seemed fairly worn out. While she could not carry him (not very well, at least), she did her best to take it slow on taking him home.
“Ah, you’re back! I didn’t expect it to take so long, but thank you regardless.” Lydia scooped Junior up, and he curled up into her arms. “Thank you, Meridia. I’ll admit, you helped me out quite a bit today. I hope Junior wasn’t trouble for you.”
“Not at all!” Meridia beamed. “I’d do it again sometime.”
“I may hold you to that.” Lydia muttered as Meridia made her way back home.
