The sky was fully ablaze as dawn settled across the plain. A lone soul drifted around the scattered rocks and cast a dreadful shadow within the grass. The heat was dry and brittle, his breath was thick and humid. Rays of light danced along the forgotten path that the creature walked. Each step is like a vow of silence to the quiet meadow to keep its peace beneath the blazing star. As the red being walked closer and closer to the giant in the sky, it tempted him with stronger and stronger waves of heat. This path was not for the weary or weak. Only those strong enough to brave its heat and dare to challenge its mighty power will ever get to see it in its magnificent glory. The wind picked up on queue to signal the final wave of the mighty star. He trekked onward into the light. It grew closer and closer until the terra was simply a mere spec. He wanted the power of the sun even for a moment. The wind suddenly stopped as he took his last step onto the cliffside. There was nowhere else to go except into the fiery jaws of the sun itself. The beast pulsed and its flaming skin shifted as it sunk lower and lower into the sky almost teasing him to come closer. He kneeled under its great power and waited for the right moment to take hold of the power he sought.

At last, he stood and the wind whipped around him in great panic. The heat, almost unbearable now, pushed at him from all sides trying to hold him in place. It only made him stronger and more confident as he grew closer and closer to the edge. With a daring smile, he reached out and grabbed the fiery ball of heat and light and stood with the star in his hands over his head. He cackled high and loud as he stood triumphantly over the world below. He knew this moment would not last long as he could feel his body weaken with each passing second. The sky became a darker and darker red matching his colors and he knew then that he had to let go of the mighty sun. However, he gained a new respect for the star as he did and the great responsibility it had over the world and all the creatures it governed. Maybe that is why it caused the solar flare to show the creatures who was truly in charge and control. Maybe it wanted them to know that it would never be forgotten.
