Lillian was in the middle of unpacking boxes. her and Marty had just moved into their new house. An upgrade from their old and overpriced apartment. Lillian always wanted to live out more in nature. She dreamed about being able to see the stars at night instead of the urban smog she grew up in with living close to cities. While Marty on the hand wasn’t the biggest fan of the outdoors and living so far from the city at first, she did have to agree the fresh air was nice and the forest was beautiful. She liked how calm everything was and was excited to be able to sit by the big window and just be able to stare out into the forest while she draws. Their pet squeetle, Terror, seemed pleased with the move as well. He had been running under their feet all morning as the two terra’s moved around boxes room to room figuring out where to put everything. He was growing impatient to explore. Terror had been pawing at their feet only to be told to wait for them to be settled in more before he could go out. The squeetle had grown too impatient though and while Lillian was moving a box inside the house he managed to squeeze himself through the door crack right before it closed and ran off into the forest. Marty and Lillian noticed after a bit that he wasn’t bugging them as much and then started to look for him. Calling his name and checking under all the furniture. But the mischievous squeetle was no where to be found. “Do you think he managed to get out??” Marty asked and Lillian let out a sigh. She grabbed a flashlight as it was already starting to get dark out due to how late it was and she walked out the door. Marty followed after her beloved grabbing some squeetle treats on the way out and started to call for Terror. They spent what felt like hours looking around the nearby forest for the little guy. After a bit though they had to take a break. Lillian sat on a nearby fallen log and let out a defeated sigh. “Hey it’ll be okay we’ll find him.. he always comes back around” Marty said trying to comfort her. “I know..it’s just this place is so new and who really knows what’s out here…” Lillian replied. Marty looked up at the sky and nudged Lillian slightly who looked up as well. The sky was lit up with beautiful speckles of white. The stars Lillian always dreamed to see she took Marty’s hand and slid off the log so they were now both laying on the grass head slightly propped up on the log. Both exhausted from wondering around looking for Terror they both fell asleep under the night sky. That was until they heard very loud munching and they both woke up to the runaway squeetle absolutely destroying the bag of treats Marty had brought out. They both looked at eachother before looking back at the now stuffed squeetle. Marty let out a little giggle and Lillian grabbed the small pet putting him in between them before looking back up at the night sky. She was happy to have Marty with her. She was happy with the life she had and wouldn’t change anything about it. Except..maybe get Terror into a new diet or take him on more walks.
