Mediarri was having a normal day, with nothing in particular to set her off. However, one small noise, a clatter of pots and pans in the kitchen it was enough to send her crumbling to the floor. It happened again, all over in a matter of seconds the memory came back like a flash flood drowning her. She felt like she was suffercating, unable to pull her head above the water as she was desperately trying to stop but once the tears started it was all over.

In her mind, she was no longer standing in her cozy kitchen, but instead she was back in the nightmarish world of her abusers home. She could hear the sound of her ex's voice, screaming at her with hatred and anger. The sound was so vivid that it felt as though he was right there in the room with her.

As she curled up on the floor with her massive tail wrapped around her being, Mediarri was transported back to the moment when he would slap her across the face with every little mistake she made. The pain was more than physical, it was the feeling of utter hopelessness, the sense that she was nothing more than a burden to the other terraliens in her world.

The sudden noise had triggered a panic attack, a rush of memories and emotions that felt unbearable. She knew the only way to calm down was by grounding herself in the present, focusing on the sounds and sensations of her environment. However, the panic continued to escalate, making it difficult to remember any of her techniques for coping with traumatic flashbacks. She could still remember the smells of her lunch from that day and even the soda she had been trying to drink before it had been knocked to the floor across the carpet.

She tried to find a way to calm herself down, but it wasn't working. Her heart was racing, and her thoughts were becoming more and more scattered. As she lay on the floor, Mediarri felt alone and scared. She didn't know how to get through this except for holding her favorite plush to her chest and sob into it, it was the only way to release the painful memory and remind herself he was gone. There was no one left to hurt her, and she was safe. If nothing else in her life brought her peace, a single stuffed animal was enough to remind her that her memories were the past and now who she was now.
