The sun was rising on what was going to be a nice day, sunny, but not hot. Not overly windy, but a light breeze blowing. However there was one thing different about today, March had just ended and now it was the first of April. Better known as April Fools day. Mari Gwyl loved this day, and they had spent the last couple days of March planning out exactly what kind of pranks they were going to pull around town. They had one person in particular they were excited to prank this year though, and that was Dr. Scope.

They were a rather serious Terralien, and it was very hard to catch them off guard. Or even out of their lab in fact. But Mari Gwyl had been planning this. They had been keeping an eye on them for a while, secretly, to figure out when the other actually left their lab, and, unfortunately, this year’s April 1st just so happened to fall on a day the the Doctor left their lab to get some sort of supplies. Mari wasn’t really sure what exactly they were getting but that didn’t matter to them, as this was the perfect opportunity for them to pull a prank.

So they made their way to the Doctor’s lab, waiting for them to leave so they could slip inside while they were away to set up the lab with pranks.

It didn’t take long for the Doctor to leave, just like Mari had planned, the Doctor was very punctual, so they had arrived shortly before they left with all their materials and slipped in the moment they left, the lab empty, they got to work.

They managed to finish setting up their pranks early, and took a moment to relax; however, that was when they heard someone entering the lab, the first prank being set off, a bucket of water falling to the floor. Mari let out a small giggle and went to hide. Though surprisingly the Doctor hadn’t let out any surprised noise upon being drenched in water. In fact, they didn’t make any noise at all. The lab was silent after the bucket settled down on the tiled floor. Odd. But Mari couldn’t risk going to check. Maybe the Doctor was also silent in his surprise as they normally didn’t speak much outside of work related matters.

The next trick went off, and then the next one, each one going off being met with continued silence. Mari was getting suspicious now. Surely the Doctor had to have something to say after being pranked multiple times!? Mari Gwyl moved from their hiding spot, heading to the door that led into a hallway which had most of the pranks they’d set up. The Doctor was nowhere to be seen though. But all the pranks had been set off!? They were even more confused now.

Hesitantly, Mari Gwyl opened the hallway door, and to their surprise, a bucket filled with water fell straight onto their head. They let out a surprised scream, practically falling over. As they tried to stand up, they started to slip down the hallway, falling into their own pranks leading down the hallway one by one. By the end, they were drenched in water, covered in oil and then sticky sauce. And then feathers. They flopped over onto their stomach at the end of the hallway, confused and dizzy.

“Well, it was a nice attempt to try and prank me, but, maybe now you’ll have learnt your lesson on exactly why nobody else tries to.” The Doctor said from the door. They hadn’t even entered the lab. Mari let out a defeated groan. The pranker had become the pranked.
