Nyano knew they shouldn’t be here, but they were there anyway out of pure curiosity. Dr. Scope had told Nyano not to visit his lab while he was away, but deep down he knew that Nyano would disobey him anyway. At least any of his experiments he worked on was not dangerous, or risked any type of injury to anyone or himself.
As Nyano slowly opened the door to his lab and peeked in. It was eerily silent. The only sounds of the distant hums of his machines spread throughout the building. Nyano looked behind them once more and crept inside. They quietly shut the door behind them and cautiously made his way inside.
The first thing Nyano noticed was the vast amounts of vials, tubes, measuring cups, and beakers all throughout the lab. Some of them had mysterious colored liquid in them, while others were empty. Shelves had books and all kinds of folders on the walls, charts of different bug species, types of weather cloud formations, pictures of galaxies, all sorts of colorful things.
As Nyano continued to walk forward into the lab, their attention was grabbed by a small container on the table. Upon closer inspection, it was a medium sized vial filled with bright purple liquid. Nyano squinted at the tube and they could see tons of tiny microbes inside. They continued to stare at the microbes in a sort of trance when all of a sudden the microbes swam together in the middle all at once, and formed a sphere.
Nyano backed up quickly, placing the jar on the table. They stared at the container as the microbes began to unshift from their ball and swirl around, still sticking together. They continued to do this for a few more seconds before forming the shape of Nyano. Confused, Nyano took a small step forward to investigate. The microbes quickly copied Nyanos’ movements.
Nyano smiled, they moved their arm up in the air to test if the microbes could see what they were doing. And sure enough, they moved to exactly what Nyano was doing. Nyano felt a bit braver, and decided to move all of their arms and legs and tail in a sort of dancing motion.
Without warning, Dr. Scope arrived back in his lab and noticed Nyano dancing with his Microbes. He laughed loudly and Nyano turned around quickly, and the microbes dissipated their shape within their tube, and Nyano stood there, slightly embarrassed.
