Minnow trotted down the sidewalk, attempting to shake the rain from her fur. Sadly, the droplets of water stubbornly clung onto her body. Streams of water trickled down her visor as her deer companion peered out from the glass dome, observing the storm from inside her sheltered home.
It had begun to storm mid-way through Minnow’s evening stroll. To her irritation, Minnow’s newly washed fur was now subjected to muddy rainwater as she trudged through the soggy ground. She had gone out earlier to collect the blueberries she had spotted growing on the field. Now she clutched her soggy basket with her hooves, blueberries forgotten as she made her way down the cobblestone path to her cottage. Her hooves clicked against the tiled pathway.
A loud boom of thunder echoed through the valley as she trudged on, water clinging to her legs. Forcing down her growing irritation , the Terralien continued her commute, hooves sinking in softened dirt as the rain began to loosen the ground beneath her. She supposed her blueberry field would be bursting with growth, at the very least. Ears pinned back against the downpour, Minnow finally reached her cottage. It was lit dimly from the inside, her fireplace still burning weakly from when she had left it earlier. After a moment of fiddling with thelock, she finally managed to slip inside as a boom of thunder shook the sky. Wiping herself down, the Terralien pat her hooves dry on the indoor mat before plopping herself down onto the living room sofa, worn out from her hurry back. Plush fabric sank beneath her as she enjoyed the storm from inside.
Hooves propped onto the arm of the couch, the Terralien felt her body melt into comfort. The fire was crackling gently, embers glowing and casting the cottage with a warm glow. She had left her friend, Claire to tend to the flames while she was out; and her blue-furred friend certainly did not disappoint. The latter was now dozing off on her self-assigned armchair, tail wrapped around herself protectively. Minnow inhaled deeply, letting the calm of the environment wash over her. The storm raged on outdoors, but inside only the muffled sounds of rain hitting her window could be heard. Minnow snuggled further into her sofa. The two Terraliens lay there for hours until the fire was no more then ash, the storm only existing through the droplets of water clinging to the grass outside. Despite everything, it truly was a perfect day to relax.
