With the last few hammer strikes the carved marble was complete. The perfect form of a sea serpent striking up through the water surface was replicated in the cold stone in front of him as Bebe polished its surface. All that remained was the final strike. With a precise blow from a claymore blade the statue was split into two. “GALTH!” Bebe’s voice rang through the cave. The small body came waddling around the corner yelling, “Bebe! Bishop’s finally here!”
“Good, I have just finished. Come in.”
The three stood in admiration at the work, contented silence then broken with Bebe’s authoritive voice commanding Galth, “Right, go ahead on the right half.”
As Galth ran his little paw across the base of the chosen half gold spread from his touch transforming the stone to the gleaming metal.
“Bishop, your turn.”
Bishop’s grimoire floated in the air, its pages flicking to a certain enchantment to which he spoke the incantation to as he crushed a charred horse hoof in his palm which became a dark black liquid which shot onto the sides of the two half of the statue and then pulled them together. At the joining the two materials seemed to melt together, oscillating as if at war each other but mainly staying separate. It was a mesmerising sight, but alas they could not stare for long as Bebe carefully lifted it and brought it through the lake onto a prepared wagon. Galth jumped in to and as Bebe pulled it along Bishop walked beside.
Eventually they arrived at the Creation Competition. Bebe placed their piece into position and watched as observed chattered and gazed upon their work. The judge panel was making their way around some impressive artworks. One station had an animated scene of a fox chasing a rabbit made from a white smoke. Another played an incredible tune while moulding the notes into the air with fire. One had made a painting that changed with perspective. Lastly someone taped a banana to a toaster. It was a tough competition, and the results would be close. The Judge panel reached their statue almost taken aback, muttering amongst themselves. After an eternity of shielded conversation they left and returned to their seats. A final verdict was to be reached.
“After much contemplation we have come to a final standing.
In 3rd place – Malificents’s crow feather cape!
In 2nd place – Bebe and co’s statue!
(A groan from Bishop and a stomp from Galth)
And in 1st place… - Athena’s Rose Dragon!”
