Sienna sat back in her seat as Mesmer buzzed excitedly within her visor.
She typically didn’t attend large events, but the annual Festival of Creativity was the one exception. She made sure to never miss it - seeing all of the different kinds of artwork, from poetry readings, to live painting shows, sculpture gardens, dance performances, and everything in between, it made her feel inspired and bolstered. She never really made any artwork herself, but she enjoyed seeing what others did.
Right now, she was waiting for a musical performance to begin. Mesmer tended to like auditory artwork the best - Sienna always assumed that Mesmer didn’t really have the best eyesight, particularly from being within her visor the whole time. She made sure to check the different genres first, though - this performance was going to be a collection of instrumental music, which she assumed was going to be far more calming than the metal or hyperpop exhibitions.
The other Terraliens who began to make their way onstage seemed to be abuzz with excitement. They were all readying their instruments - some with violins, others with flutes, one large Terralien even had a gigantic piano to match their size!
Mesmer buzzed with even more excitement as some began to tune their instruments. A conductor walked up to the front of the stage, and gave a short, but good-natured speech about what music meant to them and their little orchestra. Sienna clapped quietly, but politely.
Then, the conductor raised their hands up high… and the concert began.
Sienna didn’t quite know what she was expecting. She thought instrumental would mean a more classical genre, but the sounds were so lively and upbeat that the label didn’t quite fit. Mesmer bobbed back and forth in her visor, chirping softly along with the tune.
Sienna kept wondering what kind of music it was as the performance drew on, and she tapped her own foot on the ground in time with the music. She always discovered at least one new kind of art during her annual visit to the festival - perhaps, this was this year’s discovery.
“Thank you! Thank you!”
Sienna’s antennae twitched. Oh— she was so lost in thought, she hadn’t realized the performance had ended already. Her curiosity was solidly piqued - perhaps… could she even learn how to play like that?
As the crowd dispersed, chatting idly about the performance, she got up, making her way over to where some of the performers were discussing the concert with any interested audience members - hoping that she could learn even more about what she had just witnessed.
