THE ADVENTURES OF BOBERT by 6exymarrow9
The sound of footsteps rang through the corridors.
The dim lighting was barely enough for one to navigate through.
The creature lazily dragged their hand against the wall as they walked, wondering when the hallway would come to an end.
They crossed a doorway, leading into what seemed to be a now barren laboratory space. Dust was forming its own little space on the shelves and tables that it sat on, making it its new home. The inside was decorated with a mixture of vials, microscopes, and other strange gadgets. It was definitely a sight to behold.
“HOW INTERESTING,” the creature inside the visor spoke. She peered through the glass to see that the vials had still contained chemicals and carefully took one in hand. She swung the vial around slowly, watching the strange concoction in the glass, before flicking open the cap. A bit spilled out, causing whatever it landed on to erode.
“IT WOULD BE BEST IF I LEFT THIS ONE ALONE THEN,” she wondered out loud, cautiously closing the vial before placing it back in its container. She took a few steps forward to be met with a microscope, with a petri dish sitting right next to it. She took a swab with a piece of glass and placed it under the microscope. She adjusted it carefully, then leaned forward to take a look through the lens.
She was greeted by different microbes, all in their own special movement as if dancing to some sort of music. “HELLO LITTLE BACTERIA. I AM BOBERT,” said the small cat inside the visor. “IT’S A SHAME. IF ONLY THERE WAS SOME MUSIC, THEN I COULD JOIN YOU IN YOUR DANCE PARTY.” She leaned back, leaving the bacteria to their own strange motions.
Bobert wondered how she would react to see someone much larger than her looking through a lens to see her tiny presence. Would it be intimidating? Or would she just be happy to see someone acknowledge her presence? However, the cat was left with little answers and far more questions to ponder.
She wanted to look through more, but knew that night was soon to approach. She would have to continue her little adventure tomorrow. “WELL THAT’S UNFORTUNATE,” she said to herself, looking out the window as the sky was painted orange and purple. “I REALLY WANTED TO CONTINUE LOOKING AROUND.”
But it’s okay.
There was always next time.
