Six nervously walked through the market, their head down and eyes darting around warily. They really wanted to be able to get a good gift for Oyster, their wonderful partner, because it was his birthday in 2 days. They were usually nervous about gifting for random occasions, so they normally showed their affection through gifts that they made or found, not shop-made, because they felt that it was a lot more personal if it came from them solely. They walked hurriedly out of the market, and to the lake, which had really good carving wood. They picked up and dropped a couple until they found the perfect one: A driftwood pile. They sat down and started to carve, using his claws to carve at first a tiny head of Oyster, and eventually, a body. It came out looking more scuffed than Six liked, and they decided to finish it tomorrow. Just when they stood up, however, Oyster suddenly appeared beside him. “Hey Six, how are you?” She chirped. Six jumped a good 4 feet into the air and hid the sculpture behind their back. “I-I’m gOoOod.” They stuttered weakly. Oyster nodded. “Uh-huhhh.” He said suspiciously. “What do you got there, honey?” Six raised it behind his head. Oyster couldn’t reach it if she tried, Six was much too tall. Oyster sighed slightly, giving up. “Well, if you need any help with that, or if you want to talk at all, you know where to find me!” He said cheerfully, hugging Six, and then leaving. Six sighed in relief, that was MUCH too close….

Over the next two days, Six worked tirelessly on the carving, making it into the best they were able to, and then they painted it very meticulously. Finally, 2 hours before the party, it was finished, and it was glorious. They couldn’t wait to show it to Oyster! They sneaked into their house, and placed it carefully upon the table, awaiting Oyster’s arrival. Oyster arrived, spotting Six and the beautiful carving immediately. He squealed in delight and fiercely hugged Six, who returned the gesture happily. Oyster examined the mini sculpture of herself, not critiquing, but complimenting everything. Six laughed softly, zoning out slightly. They loved being able to give gift to Oyster, especially since it was personal, and coming from them. They hugged Oyster tightly. “Happy Birthday!” They said happily. Oyster laughed and hugged ‘em tighter, the two agreed, that this sculpture, in fact, was the best one ever.
