New things were often intriguing to people, the concept of being able to discover and flesh out something they had never seen before being simply captivating to anyone. Jett was no exception to this rule. Having finally gotten his first-ever phone, he sat carefully on the rocks of the bay, careful to keep the hungry dark water away from his new fragile device. From observing others, he had long since learned that dropping it into the water was bad for the device. Having worked extremely hard to get his hands on the current one, the concept of losing it to yet another clumsy mistake was crushing.
Further down the rock, Riptide observed him, unamused and disapproving of his newfound discovery.
"There's no use for it," he complained snidely, "I don't know why you went through the effort of getting one."
"A lot of terraliens have one," Jett shot back playfully, not a fan of his adoptive brother's negative attitude.
"How many terraliens in the bay have one?"
Jett did not grace Riptide with a response to that question, mostly because the answer was none. Technology and water did not mix. There was no easily accessible way to get one's hands on it and that was exactly why Jett had struggled so hard. The one he had currently gotten his grasp on he was 'borrowing' from a land-dweller. They wouldn't notice if he kept it for a while.
Flicking through the different options curiously, he eventually clicked on an oddly shaped one that had a label he couldn't read. Reading wasn't his forte. Words weren't his forte, either.
"Can you drop that thing already? I'm hungry," Riptide complained, playing with his claws.
Then, suddenly, a streak of white enveloped them both as Jett clicked the camera button. Riptide gave a sound akin to a hiss and dropped back into the water with a splash, as Jett shielded the phone from his destructive movements. Blinking at the phone as his eyes adjusted, he was met with the sight of him squinting at the camera and Riptide holding his hands out to block out the light. They both looked ridiculous, as the photo had been completely unexpected, but Jett regarded it rather fondly.
Them. Brothers. Together.
These phones were wonderful.
