“Come on Angel! You’re going to miss the sunset!” Midnights called, cheerfully leaping onto a boulder as Angel dragged herself up the hiking trail, heaving.
“Do we really have to continue?” Angel gasped, slumping against the rock Midnights pranced on. “We’ve been hiking for hours, and it's so hot! I’ve probably got sunburn already.”
Midnights ignored Angel’s complaints, and jumped off the boulder, continuing the trail as Angel flopped limply to the ground, before following Midnights.
“How much longer is it to the cliff?” Angel asked, catching up to Midnights.
“Only three more miles.” Midnights answered, as Angel groaned, and pulled out a bottle of water before taking a sip.
“Why are we putting ourselves through this hike again?” Angel gulped down the water wearily.
“Because tonight’s sunset will be absolutely gorgeous. We can eat some food at the cliff, and take some photos.” Midnights gleefully broke into a run, shooting down the trail as Angel struggled to keep up.
“Sure, sure.” Angel chased after Midnights. The pair continued running, despite Angel’s constant pleas to take a break.
“Midnights, can’t we take a break? We’ve been running for hours.” Angel wailed, chasing after Midnights.
“It’s only been thirty minutes Angel, plus we’re almost at the cliff! The map says it should be… here!” Midnights skidded to a halt in front of the cliff’s edge, which luckily had a fence.
The sun had begun to set, as Angel pulled out her phone.
“Come on Midnights, let’s take a selfie since we’re finally here.” Angel bent down, opening her phone, as Midnights popped up behind her.
“3, 2, 1, smile!” Midnights called, as Angel pressed the button.
There was a small click as the selfie was taken.
“See, I told you this view would be worth it Angel! Look how good the picture looks!’ Midnights smiled brightly.
“It does look great.” Angel agreed as she pulled out sandwiches for the pair. The two took out their water bottles, and devoured the sandwiches, as they watched the sun set, smiling.
