The light of the morning peeked in through Meridia’s window, something she considered much better than an alarm clock. She began to stretch as she felt the newfound warmth of day, however something was off. Her arms didn’t stretch as far as usual. And, come to think of it, the bed did seem bigger. She sat up and looked down at herself…she was smaller. And her body was different, softer. She scrambled out of bed, which she realized quickly was a mistake as she fell visor-first into the floor. She dusted herself off and stumbled over to her mirror. She was smaller! And she was different! She was like a stuffed animal now. And so was her critter, Flutter! But Flutter didn’t seem to mind as much. She (as quickly as she could, considering the circumstances) waddled outside her home. Everything was so much bigger. She knew exactly who to go to.
She shuffled to the more abandoned, forestry parts of Terrah and very quickly found who she was looking for: Oberon. A fossil terra, and one of the oldest she knew. She got their attention easily enough. Oberon loomed above her, watching curiously as she jumped up and down in a panic, frantically trying to do anything to explain what was wrong. Oberon sat down, their old sensors blinking softly, and they watched Meridia curiously. Eventually, Oberon reached a hand out and scooped Meridia up, surprisingly gentle. It was comforting, in a way, as the forest and trees were much bigger now than Meridia was used to, and a giant terra like Oberon made her feel a little safer, despite their silence. Carefully and quietly, Oberon carried her to the edge of the forest and set her down. They blinked through their old sensors Home. Safer. And Meridia understood. She waved goodbye and waddled back home, wondering just how long this state was going to last…
