Mari Gwyl made his way up the stone steps of the central plaza, walking happily and whistling a catchy tune as he did. It was getting dark now and he’d just arrived at the Terrah Light Show. The light show was famous and was always held around new years. It was one of his favorite things to go to. He held his basket of food and a blanket in tow in his floating hand and picked out a good spot to start setting up.

He set his basket down, taking the blanket out and spreading it out on the ground to sit on so he could watch the show. He then sat down and got comfortable. As he waited, other terraliens started to set up all around him, the place filling up rather quickly with terraliens of all different shapes and sizes. Some had brought chairs and others had blankets just like Mari Gwyl.

The entire plaza was bustling with Terralians, and soon the show would start.

As it grew darker now, Mari Gwyl took the opportunity to take out one of his favorite snacks, setting it up on the blanket in front of his outstretched legs. He then took out the bag of chips that went with it. Salsa and chips.

Suddenly a bang went off in the distance and the sky suddenly lit up with the first firework of the night! Everyone cheered as it dazzled brightly in the sky and then fizzled to the ground.

The night went on like this, each firework more magnificent than the last, in all different colors. Different shapes. Mari Gwyl was just enjoying it and taking it in. All the other Terraliens seemed to be doing the same, though the younger ones were running around and playing, screaming excitedly every time one went off in their excitement. It made him giggle each time.

However the show couldn’t go on forever, as much as everyone wished it could. It was nearing the finale of the show, Mari Gwyl could tell that much. The fireworks seemed to be building up to a grand finish. As much as he’d be sad that it was ending, the finale was always the best part! He sat back, ready for it to go off, in suspense. And then it did.

A rainbow of colors sounded off into the sky first, popping one after another. And then one lst, large firework shot up into the sky, reading ‘HAPPY NEW YEAR’.
