The New Year was right around the corner, and Stevie couldn't help but feel slightly saddened by the idea. He'd been a traveler since he was young- hopping from planet to planet with his ship being his only real home. However, since he crash-landed back on Terrah, he'd been unable to get his ship back off the ground. It was going to be a year soon, and the celebrations and festivities reminded them of their failure. They had plans that day to meet with a few friends- Gigglethorpe and Persephone, but in all honesty, they weren't looking forward to it much. Persephone had told them about the beautiful lights and fireworks that were going to be set off at midnight, and although Stevie loved colorful and bright things, the shiny objects in the sky just made him wish further that he was up there with them. However, he kept his head held high and met his friends at the meeting spot they'd planned out at around 11:30. They had set out a blanket and some pillows to keep warm from the sharp coldness of winter, and brought plenty of hot cocoa and marshmallows.

At around 11:50, the fireworks began to shoot into the sky, exploding into a beautiful display of shimmering lights. Gigglethorpe and Persephone watched with awe as the sky lit up, and Stevie couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder too. He brushed his feelings of longing to leave away, now realizing that what he had here wasn't all that bad. Maybe spending another year or two on Terrah could be good- he's made wonderful friendships and the Terras around him make him oh-so happy. He looked back up at the sky, dipping a few marshmallows into his hot cocoa (even though he couldn't drink any of it.. it was still fun to have the tradition).

Gigglethorpe and Persephone stood, walking to the edge of the hill that they were standing on and beckoning Stevie to come over with them. He stood as well, skipping up and taking each of their hands. As the clock hit midnight, they made their resolutions for the New Year and all agreed on one thing.. to stay friends for as long as they possibly could. The last few fireworks exploded in the sky, slowly shimmering away and leaving only the star and moonlight to shine down on the group of friends. They gathered their things and walked back home, excited to embrace the New Year.
