As the sun began to set, Clear sat outside in the cold with her mug of hot cocoa. She gazed up at the sky and waited patiently for the first stars to appear. As the darkness of night fell over the world, Clear began to reflect on the year that had just passed. So many days and nights struggling to make it by, when all she desired was for a singular good day or week for that matter. Chuckling to herself, the moon wasn't out tonight which meant the night lights would be so much brighter this year.

She thought about all the memories she had made, both good and bad. She pondered the drama of the previous year and the loss of certain friendships. Clear knew that she needed to make new friends in the coming year, but the thought of being alone again made her feel anxious. The small snake in her visor shifted around as she gazed to the stars, feeling so much smaller when looking at the world above and beyond that.

Just as she felt a sense of hopelessness wash over her, she was interrupted by the first flickering of light in the sky. She watched in awe as the lights began to fill the sky with colors of arrays like diamonds against the black canvas of the night twinkling in wonder. Clear felt a sense of peace and awe wash over her as she watched the lights dance across the heavens and beyond that, a future untold.

As the light show continued, Clear felt a sense of hope and purpose fill her heart. She knew that the coming year would bring new opportunities and new friends. She vowed to make the most out of the coming year, and to not let the past hold her back. Wanting to become more than just a clay thrower, she wanted to possibly take up the hobby including caretaker over plants. Something about making life grow from nothing seemed so much more surreal, it also gave her another purpose.

As the world rang in the new year, Clear closed her eyes and made a wish for a better tomorrow. She prayed that the coming year would bring joy, happiness, and new experiences. She smiled to herself as she took a sip of her hot cocoa, feeling hopeful for what was to come as the illumination of the sky continued late into the night. All of those celebrating under the same sky, there was something wonderful about it. To imagine so many others were gazing underneath the same lights and stars tonight, making wishes and dreams come true. She wanted to believe, and with the final breath she had been holding in Clear smiled in her own way. This year she will make her dream come true, not just for herself but for her friends too!
