A Momentous Night
As the New Year came closer to its arrival, it was time to finally come out of Ehverath's abode and celebrate with others. All day, anxiety, fears, but also excitement arose for the occasion. Ehverath Lianas doesn't come out often to gatherings due to her shyness, social anxiety, and her disliking of loud noises, but it is hard to pass up on the event, as it only comes once a year.
As Ehverath finally finished getting ready after a long day of anticipation, all bundled up in a soft puffy coat, warm boots, and sparklers in hand. She quietly walked out, taking deep breaths, ready for whatever lies ahead on this momentous night.
After closing the door and walking upon the freshly fallen and crisp snow, Ehverath looked up, flipping her hair back, and was in awe. The moon was fully lit, stars sparkled in anticipation, and the snow breezily blew in the capful of wind. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, almost like it knew about this day and all the gatherings it unites.
In the area ahead, lights and faint noises of others filled the night.
Gathering up the courage, Ehverath moved forward towards a night she will never forget…
Sounds cluttered the busting town, although overwhelming, it showed great excitement for all who were here. Proceeding in a leisurely manner, she turned and twisted her head, watching others, curious how they were spending their night. Some were running around, sparklers in hand, chasing one another. Others were in groups, sitting down on wooden chairs, laughing and speaking amongst one another. And others were just watching the skies, rubbing their hands together for warmth, waiting for the fireworks.
Feeling the positive energy flow throughout the town, Ehverath felt at ease just being here, letting her fears and anxiety fly away with the snow.
After walking around, seeing all the people and all the events taking place, time seemed to have slipped by too soon, as it was almost time for the moment everyone had been waiting for.
A timer of one minute shown in the sky, lighting up the glistening snow on the ground and reflected off of others visors.
Quietly walking up to a nearby campfire for warmth and for a source of fire, everyone hushed and looked to the sky, and started counting down.
“5…4…3…2…1!” Everyone exclaimed, quickly lighting sparklers and wooed loudly in excitement.
Popping sounds arose as the snow glittered the ground gracefully. Taking a deep breath, Ehverath took her sparklers, and shoved their tips in the fire. As their crackling started to arise, she lifted them away from the fire, to right in front of her. After admiring the sparks while the booms of fireworks flooded the sky, lights dazzling everyone, she lifted them up high in the air and took another deep breath…
“Happy New Year!”
