EARLY MORNINGS AND CHRISTMAS CAROLS
It was a little early, the air was slightly chilly, and curiously he was already up, with a striped scarf around his neck, the ends hanging almost to the ground along with his ears.
Between his paw-like hands was a piece of paper, and soft noises were coming out of his glass visor. The only reason he decided to be part of the official city choir was that, because of the month, most of the houses selected to sing were also giving away eggnog, cookies, hot chocolate....
The little dragon was already drooling at the mere thought of having Christmas snacks all day long.
He shook his head and concentrated on keeping track of the right notes as he walked. It was going to be a hard task but it was worth it.
The town clock indicated that it was already a little late for the meeting so her little legs hurried to the main square, spotting the other creatures (and Terras too) already practicing under a tree.
"I told you we shouldn't make that Japanese scrambled egg omelet for breakfast!"
Said the little white dragon and in return, the body made a few hand signs, replying that "You were the one who craved something different and complained."
The little creature curled in on itself, embarrassed.
About two or three hours passed, many people left money (it was a charity project) and some children just enjoyed or danced, music filled the place with joy and laughter, and it was time for the first house.
Yamyam yawned, as he was not used to being awake before 10 o'clock, he felt sleepy. An old lady with her grandchildren received them at the first house and they listened to the caroling, very YamYam-like those two children could barely keep their eyes open while the old lady had probably been standing since 5 or 6 in the morning. At the end of the caroling, they served cocoa with marshmellows and beignets filled with apple jam. Without any embarrassment, she grabbed the ones that were left after everyone was ready to go next door. Grandma let out a giggle and let them be.
He didn't give the matter much thought, when it came to food he was always going to be around the corner, but, his work was not yet done, although they had already been through a good handful of homes there was still one left. The little terralien, having finished eating what was left over from the old sandwiches, began to sing, perhaps he was the funniest of the group because he sang while the little dragon in his visor chewed what was left of the sandwich and his little tail danced to the rhythm of the music, giving a childish touch to his performance. That house was a little bigger than the others and of almost heavenly white tones, a well-kept porch and a strangely intact yard considering that there were completely healthy sunflowers in the middle of winter and without the need of a nursery, was the owner a magician? Well, it wasn't his problem as long as they gave him his precious treasure (Aka the sandwiches)....
. . . It took 20 minutes to finish that carol and 5 more for the owner to come out, he was louder than he would like to admit and gave a weird vibe of tranquility.
He waited, as always he went last to finish what was left over but this time to his surprise the owner did not hand him the sandwich on the tray (which was a huge, juicy, filling cinnamon roll).
- ...?
the little dragon squealed, it was his right to sink his teeth into it and before he could protest once more he felt a somewhat heavy box being handed to him.
-Ah, thank you...
-he opened it and when he saw its contents he turned to look at him somewhat bristling, they were more cinnamon rolls and a couple of good sized donuts-.
My pleasure.
the little dragon of the visor smiled as the body waved goodbye as he was about to enjoy his prize in the nearest cafeteria...
