It was the 31 of october, Halloween, a day of happiness and celebration while dressing up in silly or scary costumes to go around scaring the other terras and get some free candy. Many terras also made Halloween themed parties and that's exactly what Teylie was looking forward to! She had customized herself a ghost-cat costume, made with white and transparent fabric, with the cute detail that she had some kitty shaped gloves, cat ears on the veil and an extra cat tail.

She had been working on it for weeks, taking the challenge as a way to learn to sew clothes as well.

But as the afternoon started to end and the hour for the party to start was getting closer and closer, the small sprout terra was already walking through the busy streets to get to her friend's place when suddenly… Teylie received a message: the Halloween party was canceled due to her friend cracking their visor.

She stopped in the middle of the street, reading the message over and over until she finally processed it. She was already in her ghost-cat costume, fully prepared… and the party was canceled.

She texted to make sure her friend was alright and didn't suffer any serious injuries, but internally the disappointment was strong. She looked around not knowing what to do: everyone was out with their friends, either to go trick or treating or to their own Halloween parties.

But she was all alone.

Her ears went down as she decided to sit down on a bench, the negative emotions overflowing her, the roses in her visor even became less saturated.

But suddenly-

"Are you alright?" A kind voice asked her. She turned around, recognizing one of her neighbors: Kaiser, the reptilian terra didn't have any costume on, he had crouched down to not tower that much over her as she was barely half his height.

Kai was always respectful and kind with her, so his presence didn't startle her.

"I'm-... I'm fine-" she answered quietly.

"You don't really look fine though, why are you so sad? You have an amazing costume, aren't you going to go trick or treating?"

Teylie looked down at her paws: "well- I was going to go to a Halloween party… but it just got canceled at the last minute. And I don't have anyone to go with to trick or treat-"

The tail of the reptilian terra wags a little as he debates something internally before telling her:

"I'm sorry to hear the party got canceled. But what if… we go trick or treating together? After all you are already in costume" He offers, and Tey answers enthusiastically:
"Wait really!? You would like to go trick or treating together??"

Kaiser nods "yeah why not. I have a costume in my apartment so I can just dress up quickly. I didn't have any plans though because my partner works tonight so I didn't have anyone to go trick or treating either. So what do you say? Do we have a plan?"

And Teylie jumps off the bench in happiness, hopping from the excitement:
"Yes please! I'll wait for you here!"

Kai laughs "alright I'll be right back" and he walks up to his apartment to dress up.

Ten minutes later Kai shows up: he's wearing a vampire costume. The reptilian terra has even placed a tiny black and red cloak on his snake critter, which seems to be very proud of her new looks. Kaiser has even glued some fake fangs to his visor and his black and red cape has the form of bat wings. Teylie is stunned for a second, truth be honest she gets easily scared so she can't help but stand awkwardly in place, both in awe and slightly scared of her friend costume.

Kai notices it and he kneels down once more in front of her

"I'm going to take that as that I look scary?" He says amused, keeping his voice soft to ease the intimidation.

Teylie nods and thinks about it before saying: "we are going to get tons of candy-" she giggles happily at the idea, back at her cheerful self. Kai chuckles and walks with her to the first house.

And so, they start going around the houses. Teylie is over the moon with the amount of people that give them candy. She also gets a lot of compliments on her ghost-kitty costume, which makes her night even better. The rose terra is completely unaware that whenever someone opened the door, Kai stood behind her in the most menacing way possible with his snake hissing, which definitely encouraged some people to give Teylie some extra candy.

They even had a funny moment when one of the owners of an apartment opened up the door fully dressed as a zombie, Teylie had ended up jumping in the arms of Kai after getting startled which made both the owner and Kaiser start laughing.

Teylie ended up receiving a small ghost plushie as an apology from the zombie-looking owner, which she kept hugging the rest of the night.

Eventually, after they filled their pumpkin-themed bag of candies, the two decided to sit down in a park and exchange some of the candy they got. Teylie couldn't stand the 'frizzly bats', a type of candy that just by touching it gives a weird sensation on their paws, while Kai despised a type of jello candy that had the consistency of slime. Once they finished exchanging the sweets, they decided to make their way home, saying hi to all their neighbors who were still out there trick or treating.

Kai made sure Teylie reached home safely, and Tey couldn't help but feel happy that despite the party got canceled, she got to have fun and get to know better her reptilian neighbor.
