Halloween was upon the world of Terrah, terraliens of all shapes and sizes dressed up in costumes taking part in the nightly event of candy acquisition. While the event was something new to the land, it was taken up in stride by the residents, all kinds of sweets being handed out and even some tricks being played on the more easily spooked. Walking through the streets, Skully found herself enjoying the event in her own way. She wasn’t one to approach others, and so she had an extroverted friend to tag along with her.

She had taken to wearing a costume of something called a “witch”, a pointed hat resting over her sensors as it was comically large and matched well with the tattered dress she wore. It was nice and flowing, yet warm enough to fight off the slight chill in the air. She had a basket that was themed around a poison apple, the bright green blending with the accents on her outfit. She was content to just walk the streets and gaze out on the creative costumes.

Her friend was none other than Benjamin, better known as “Greeseball” due to his goopy skin that dripped like sludge. He was dressed up as Frakenstein’s Monster, which was from a book he had recently become obsessed with. “Skully, you know many people refer to the character I am dressed like as Frakenstein, even though that is the name of the creator and not the monster.” He had been giving little facts about the story behind his costume, from down to how it started in the arctic and that it was just because the monster was lonely that he destroyed his creator's life.

“I did not know that… You sure learned a lot about this book, Ben,” She replied, glancing over to him as she was amused by his ramblings about this book. She was glad to have the company and listen to the smaller sized terralien.

Eventually they came upon a door, Benjamin going right on up to knock on the door. “Trick or treat!” He called in a singsong voice only to let out a scream as a smaller terra jumped out of the nearby bushes and gave him a fright. Benjamin scoffed and put a hand over his chest as he tried to calm down, Skully gently patting his shoulder. “There there. You got a trick it seems. This house has its lights off, so no candy here for now. They must be out walking the roads like us.”

“Y-yes you must be right!” He nodded vigorously as he calmed himself, fixing up his costume before he ran a hand through his goopy hair. He stayed close to Skully now, shivering a little as he scoffed, “I can not believe I was so easily spooked! What a horrible thing to do. Let us try another home.”

Skully shook her head in fondness, a smile behind her words, “It is a fair prank. I just think you are not as brave as the monster you are dressed as.” Benjamin scoffed and waved his hands as he leaned away from her.

“Oh! You think I am not a brave man! I shall prove you wrong!” He rushed up to the next door, knocking as he called out once more, “Trick or treat!” A door swung open to reveal a sweet looking terralien dressed up as a bee.

“Oh! What wonderful costumes. Here you are.” The terralien handed over a few handfuls of candy, Skully having walked up and chimed in with her own soft, “Trick or treat.” Their bags now a touch more full they headed on their way to find their next adventure. Benjamin was looking through his bag to pull out candy he loved the most and leave it toward the top. He even tried to haggle with Skully to play swapsies with some of her treats as he was adamant about certain flavors being superior to others.

Skully would oblige him, planning on handing out her candy to other younger terraliens who would make sure the candy was well enjoyed. She eventually found two young terraliens who had their baskets only half full. She leaned down, offering her basket to them. “Here, please take some of mine. I know you will enjoy it. Happy halloween.”

The two terraliens smiled and took a handful as they made sure to leave some for her or others she might want to donate the candy too. As they ran off Benjamin shook his head, “You are far too kind, Skully. It is free candy that could last forever!”

“Yes, but it is not important to me. It is less about the candy, and more about making sure they had their best halloween.” She watched the two go, happy to have made sure their trick or treating was the best.
