"Hmm.. Y'know, I don't even think you gotta change, you already look scary enough."
Benjamin spoke as they crossed their arms over their chest and looked towards the doctor across the room. Scope slowly turned his head and looked back towards Benjamin, the tiny microorganisms floating around in their head. His mouth shaped into a frown and tail flicked side by side behind him.
"You're hilarious."
Scope murmured not amused at all. He then turned his attention back to the costume that he had picked out. He realized now that Benjamin was right, holding the makeshift stitched up lab coat he had stitched himself. Along with the coat was a headband with two pieces that looked like a screw that would make it appear the screw was coming out from his head. The man scientist costume was something easy and low budget to put together!
"Like you're any better..."
Scope mumbled again earning a scoff from Benjamin.
"I pull off the zombie look really well!"
Benjamin turned around to face the mirror they were standing at and look at their costume. Ripped up clothes and fake stitches over his body. He wore his costume with pride, chest puffed out and tail wagging as he admired himself in the mirror. Scope just sighed softly and went to put his own costume on now.
The sun was just started to go down, and around the small town was many other terras walking the sidewalks, going house to house in costume and trick or treating from house to house. It was a slightly windy fall evening, and the chill of the air was dulled by the excitement of candy and costumes. Benjamin was walking with a slight pep in his step as he eyed the other terras goody baskets as they walked past.
"Hurry up slow poke I'm ready to get some candy!"
He looked back to Scope who was adjusting the headband on his head to make sure it was on their correctly. Scope jogged up to catch up with Benjamin with a sigh.
"Maybe you should slow down. The candy isn't going anywhere."
Scope spoke.
"Uh- Yeah it is! Into other terras baskets instead of mine."
He boasted with a smile. Leading the way to the first house on the street that looked promising, two other terras were walking away from it with a basket that looked like a pumpkin full with sweet treats! Benjamin got excited again, his tail wagging as he walked up to the porch and knocked on the door. As it opened he gave the signature line of "Trick or treat!" the terra behind the door smiled as they grabbed something from a basket behind the door and then dropped it into the other's basket, Benjamin looked down into it excitedly only to see a large fake plastic spider. At that time Scope was walking up, murmuring the same line and Benjamin watched in horror as Scoped received candy instead of a trick.
The both of them walked away from the house and Benjamin groaned as he pulled the spider out of his bag and looked at it. He shook it around and its legs shook and then he showed it off to Scope.
"A trick! My first house is a trick!"
He spoke as he dropped the spider back into the basket he had.
"You can have some of my candy if you want."
Scope offered, but Benjamin shook his head and continued on to the next house. He ran up to the porch where someone was already sitting outside with a bucket of candy to hand out.
"Trick or treat!"
He spoke with a grin, and the terra holding the candy basket grabbed a paw full of candy and dropped it into his basket. Benjamin chuckled and gave a soft nod.
"Thank you very much!"
And the zombie looking terra happily skipped off the steps as his friend made his way to the porch to get his own candy now. Benjamin waited for Scope just outside the gate, munching on one of the candies he had gotten from the house.
"Treat this time! What did you get!?"
Benjamin asked excitedly, to which Scope pulled out a paw full of chocolates.
"Lot's of chocolate."
He answered.
Benjamin reached over and snatched one from his hand as he quickly opened it and popped it into his mouth. Scope just watched him and shook his head.
"We only just started and you're already eating too much candy. You're going to have the sugar high and then the crash, all the sugar isn't good for you."
He rambled, and when he looked back at Benjamin he was mocking him with his hand.
"Come on, Doc. Lay off it for just a night, it's Halloween. I'm supposed to get sick on candy."
Benjamin grinned, and off he skipped to the next house leaving Scope to try and jog and catch up with him again.
"You'll regret all this candy tomorrow!"
Scope called after him, but Benjamin was much too enticed by all the candy to care. The two of them spent the rest of the night going house to house and filling up their baskets with candy. Trading with each other when someone liked something more that the other had. When they finally got back home they dumped all the candy they had gotten out onto the kitchen counter and began to sort it and trade.
